An important part of your course is the opportunity to get to know English people and the English way of life, so we recommend that you stay with one of our local host families.
Our accommodation officer, who is responsible for your accommodation, takes great care to find you a family where you will be happy and comfortable. She inspects, selects and re-inspects all the host families and speaks to both you and the family during your stay. She is always ready to give you any advice you might need.
Your host family will provide you with dinner, bed and breakfast Monday to Friday and full board at the weekends. All our families live in Winchester, within walking distance or a short bus ride. Before you arrive in Winchester we will send you a map showing the location of the school, information about the host family and advice about staying and travelling in England.
While we recommend staying with a host family as being an important part of your English language learning experience, it is possible for us to arrange hotel accommodation if you would prefer that.

Please note: Students sometimes think they can find their own accommodation and so they do not book accommodation for the whole length of their course. It is not easy to find accommodation. If a student books accommodation for a shorter period than the length of their tuition they will be charged an additional £100 administration fee. This will be refunded if the student finds accommodation that is not with one of our host families. However, if the student extends their accommodation with one of our host families the Winchester School of English will retain the administration fee. Agents, please could you advise your clients of this situation.
